Went to Howick area, loads of rocky marks, quite hard for abit of a noob like me to find a suitable spot. So ended up fishing the sandy bay, shelterd from the crashing waves. I took 2 flatties, nice size, but i dont enjoy catching them much. Dont get me wrong its 10 times better than a blank at least. I dont really know what else i was expecting, i was more hoping for a tired hungry cod coming into the bay out of the waves and having a little rest, then picks up the scent of my huge peeler crab on my 3/0 hook. I am suprised i caught these fish, as i made a big bait on purpose to attempt to avoid catching flatties. Oh well never mind, Ill catch what i want one day. Some day in the near future though i hope, as in near, i mean tomorrow. **** that im going fishing later 
So anyway i guess im just rubbish at finding a place where the big ones hang out. Or is it just a case of waiting for the stray to show up?
Im not asking for much lol just a fish other than a flat fish, doesnt even have to be big, even a 1lb or 2lb will give me good satisfaction. Come here fishy fishy, dont worry ill put you back....
