  • they hunt in packs

woke up at 9 am saturday morning getting ready for the eastender comp at the glass center. with the thoughts of the hounds on monday,, well so i thought, started the comp at 2 then the words came we garn for hounds at 2am sunday morning, the weather for monday was 70mph gale force winds,i agreed knowing had to start work at half six and not finish till twelve so two hours sleep was all i needed. anyway blanked in comp hate the glass center rushed to work.. got two hours sleep, packed the car and picked darryl, racka and darren up so off to the holderness coast for some hounds, we got thwere about five thirty and was fishing by six first cast produced a hound of five pound, which was followed by racka and darren hounds of the same size, then for the next six casts i was pulling them in, then the weed came on and it went a bit quiet, that weed down there is awfull stuff.
time for sandwiches while we waited for the weed to leave, darryl who has just started to fish had not been able to land one he lost a couple on the way in suddenly threw his sandwich away as his rod was nearly pulled out of the stand and managed to land his first hound he was wrestling it on the sand trying to get hook out i was pmsl watching him lol, then that was the start of the next hectic couple of hours as smoothhound after smoothhound came in i was aching my arm was cramping up couldnt wind in and was worn out, so i trudged down the beach to where racka and darren was fishing and asked them if they had had enough cos i was going back to car for a kip before we drove home, and they said they were knackered too . so that was it we all packed up and headed home. cant wait for the next trip[ down hopefully with more sleep.

    racka 11 smoothhounds 8lb
