  • roker pier today

fished roker pier total of me and my dad , and another lad spinning and another on the end doing bait and feathering ....got my bait from rutherfords then met Fish4T to buy some sinkers before i headed out onto the pier...the wind was pretty strong and made my eventual journey to the end of the pier much easier... fished two rods one for feathering(hopeful i was) for pollack / coalie . mackerel . the other rod my dad used was set up for bait fishing two hook flappers....nothing on the bait rod nothing on the feathers. saw the guy spinnig pull up three coalies i think .....went towards the end eventually where i saw a guy pull up a coalie on feathers decent size as well then he pulled in a sandeel....thought to myself i`ll give it a go ...maybe a coalie will save the day so got the feeathers set up (daylights) and casted out thought i had hit a decent coalia/ pollack mutter to myself pls dont let this fall off the hook then when it broke the surface i realised what it was....i only have a crappy phone so heres the photo once i unhooked the fish IMG0077A.jpg picture by cc3k - Photobucket

the wind was strong and to be honest it already smelled like a netty at the top end of the pier.....no rubbish at the moment tho so lets hope it stay that way ...
the mackerel has been cooked and tastes great i hope to get a few more before i worry about stocking up bait for winter..
