Hi all. Fished on the 28/04/2011, got it wrong above...
Fished the pier again yesterday from 11.45am til 9.30pm, and what a canny day it was. Wind was fairly light, blowing direct north, but still managed to get baits out a good distance on both rods. Fishing was slow up to about 2 hours after high water, where before that there was little caught, though a mate of mine had a 1lb 8oz codling. At around 5pm the action kicked in big-style with the rods banging away happily. Loads of undersize and just size codling turned up, which was nice to see, and a even managed a plaice to add to my tally, though it wad undersized and went straight back to be caught again another day.
Last cast resulted in the rod bieng bent by a good sized fish, which turned out to be a dab!! it measured 36cm on my measure and weighed 1lb 1oz on the scales. Not a bad end to an already good day. Hopefully there will be more to come as the summer draws on.
