1st post lads, iv been trying to post for 3 months now and finally my account has been sorted. i remember being fed sweet william when i was younger because it was virtually boneless

can you eat dog fish ? Im sure when I was a kid working on N Shields fish quay they were called rock fish , or something like that,Im sure the flesh was red & white in a sort of rasberry ripple ice cream sort of look.and it tasted great, or Im I thinking of spur dog ,I know they had all sorts of ``posh `` names for some of the fish that was sold,, rock turbut. Im sure that was cat fish, dead cheap it was almost thrown away , not nowadays, does anyone know the old names for fish, used to work for Hadaways in North Shields when I was 12-15 thats about 30 odd years ago, dead busy shop never stopped , boxes and boxes of fish,to be gutted fillited ect, the quay was as busy as hell even on a quiet day, hundred of guys working, not like now , last time I was down there ther was only a few dozen boxes of fish,

We went up summer 2010 and had a small fire going on the pebble beach at drummore and cooked a doggy over the hot embers with the skin on when it was cooked the skin peeled away from the meat . Lovely fish to look at but to taste is a very strong fishy flavour.

av just came back from thereon monday your right about the weather on saterday wasvery hot i got sunburnt lol..didnt catch nowt i tried for plaice and flounder in brighthouse bay lost somthing on the way in that was it

well done Dave good report and pics as usual. I have yet to catch a dogfish. One of these days i will though.
