  • blyth pier 5/4/11

Fished from 13.30 - 18.00, we fished the end of the pier there was no one else on the pier other than a young lad with his grandparents who left after 20 minutes I wasn't expecting much and I wasn't wrong, my mate caught a coley that you couldn't have made a fish finger out of and I caught a 30cm flounder.

But the main aim of the day was for me to try out my new rod and multiplier ( first time I have used one), only had two birds nests, one I had to cut off and re-tie and the the other I managed to work out, think I done ok managing the same distance as I get with my fixed spool and i was chucking quite tentatively, the main difficulty I had was winding in with it not having a self leveller on.

For those fishing today the weather and the swell seemed to build over the last hour or two so hopefully there maybe some fish about.

At least yer didn't blank with the new gear mate. For a 4hr plus sesh and considering you never used a multipier before 2 nests aint a bad result I think and you managed to unravel one so well done. What bait was yer using anyway?
