walked down the left hand side of the boathouse and fished straight out there, never been there before so wasnt sure where was best, didnt lose any gear, but got a bit of kelp!!

            big well done.
I was right on the corner facing the groyne mate.

The flattie was caught just past the wooden jetty on the corner, wasnt that far out really.

At first I thought it was a Plaice, mainly because Ive never caught a flounder that size before, lol, and the orange spots on it. But after looking at other photos, I'm still not sure.

It was quite a strong little thing like, certainly didnt like getting near the surface.

I don't think I've knowingly caught a plaice. I must be a dangler as well.

Just trying to estimate how many top quality Plaice ave unknowingly lobbed back over the years.

Looks very like a Plaice to me, as said the lumps on the head are a giveaway. One way to be absolutely certain on the beach is to rub your finger along the lateral line towards the head. Flounder are very rough while a Plaice will be completely smooth.

                            It's a flatty! It's a piece of ****!

You can tell the anglers from the danglers on here though.
