planned to go to fish the wear for a change today but had a bad turn early this morning than put the blocks on any long time fishing out the window.
i was feeling better by dinner time and thought what the hell ,armed with rag, maccy, headed down jarra for a few hours while the tide was coming in.
just setting up the other rod and notice the scratching rod was getting some interest, give it a couple of moments and reeled in with this little fella on,
good start me thinks ,10 minutes later another one same sort of size ,followed by 2 smaller ones.all were taken on the bottom hook with rag
crabs decided to take up residents for the next 1/2 hour so switched to a pully rig with a result straight away with this one deciding to commit suicide when it flung the bait of rag down its throat,
canny size at 38cm,so the bigggest fish iv had so far this year
took one look in its gob n seen the bait n hook were well down its throut so a quick photo, then cut off the hook in its mouth then back in the water where it swam away without to much harm done to it.
didnt have a headlight with iz so 1/2. 6 decided to save the bait i had left for another trip out tommorow, this time hopefully make it to the wear, not sure where yet but hopefully as productive as today.
