it's a safe place to fish really,no worse than some of the more popular marks like bog hall.i leave as soon as the tide turns coz it fills up quickly behind you and it's not worth the risk of getting cut off

got 2 agree, same as most rock marks with 1 way on & 1 way off, make yaself a marker when u get on & keep an eye on it on the flood.

who the f*** rattled your cage??

of course i have fished it, on numerous ocasions with other experienced anglers, each time i said "never again". why else would i have commented on it for f**** sake????

fished cambois for 25 years, more or less, just not keen on the briars, or the rokers for that matter, had fish off both. i would class them as "above average" on the risk factor, that's my opinion

the last time i fished it i got a proper fright wading off in the dark on the flood, got the heart rate racing a bit. never been back, never enjoyed fishing it though, couldn't relax. Bit like fishing the rokers, obvioulsy only fishable on a really big tide, and i haven't been back to the rokers for a while either.

IN MY OPINION. THERE ARE A LOT OF SAFER MARKS TO FISH BUT EACH TO THEIR OWN, I WAS SIMPLY STATING I THOUGHT THE LAD WAS BRAVE IF THERE WAS A GOOD SEA RUNNING. I AM OF THE OPINION THAT PEOPLE CAN FISH WHERE THEY CHOOSE, RISK THEIR OWN LIVES IF THEY WISH. BUT WOULDN'T BE ME. I DIDN'T GIVE HIM ANY GRIEF, OR SAID HE WAS DAFT OR STUPID, I DIDN'T HAVE A GO AT ALL, IN FACT I CONGRATULATED HIM ON HIS FISH,SIMPLY SAID HE WAS BRAVE, AND I MAINTAIN THAT POINT OF VIEW, IF THATS OKAY WITH YOU LIKE? a get what you mean about wading off in the dark,it can be a bit hairy.thats why i leave when the tide turns so i can walk off when it's still dry because the rock's are a nightmare when covered in water

elliott.e. Codman only expressed his opinion as well. He didnt give you any grief or said you were daft or stupid. So you seem to be over reating IMO and you should accept it if someone doesnt share your view.

For what its worth I wouldnt fish them rock marks myself if I was alone and I agree with you that he is brave to fish it on a rough sea.

                    briars haven

re being dangerous, i don't know the exact details but i'm sure one of cockmans, i mean codman's mates, (another experienced local match angler), fell on the way off the briars years ago breaking his leg??? can't be 100% about this but sure it happenned, (if not i stand corrected)

2 seasons ago i saw a lad step straight off 1 of the ledges on coming off the briars in daylight, he just dissapeared for a split second, straight down into a gulley, he then came back up splashing all over, i was fishing the podler shot and was both p*****g myself with laughter and genuinely concerned for the lad at the same time.

any mark which floods as quick as that has got to be given a bit of respect, and it is far more dangerous than a lot of marks i have fished.

saying that, it's definately worth a shot ,if you have the inclination, and the energy for the walk!)
                    just not for me anymore!!

Elliott.e I only gave my opinion of the mark and you start name calling D I C K H E A D . Yes my mate did break his leg on there but it had nothing to do with the tide or coming off he just stood in a hole it could have happened on any rock mark. As for you getting a scare coming of how stupid must you have been going on a mark and not known when to leave Muppet, I have fished it hundreds of times and never had a problem I no the walk on and how early to get on and how late to leave it to get off if you didn’t then what were you doing on there in the first place. As for the lad that fell in a gulley lol where he was there is no gulleys going onto briars so how could he go under

not getting involved in a slanging match on here, and for the record i didn't call you a dick head, although if the cap fits......

ps, thats twice now you've called me a liar for some reason?? if it wasn't a gulley , must just have been a deep hole then, like the one your digging, or the same one your mate fell in.......

iv'e sent you a pm,i dont agree with people swapping anonymous insults on what is an informative website, i'd rather swap insults face to face thanks so give me a ring on the number iv'e sent you
