  • Line Snapping

Fished Horden tonight and blanked .

I had one bite, but when I struck my line snapped, so after loads of cursing tied another leader on and when I pulled knot tight it snapped. Tried again and same happened. I then tried an over hand knot in the line and it snapped.

18lb sensor and only second session since I loaded reel - I can't understand it, absolutely rotten.

Anyway reload reel and out again soon

I've had that before, probably how the line has been stored somewhere, i.e. been exposed to too much heat or something. If it happens again off the same spool ditch it and get some new.

I used to have the same problem with sensor and red ice so I switched to F1 more expensive yer and I know it was probably just the odd spool but wasnt gona take the risk in case a double came along 2 years later and am still Waitn lol.

Same happened to a mate a mine when we were fishing in the snow and ice, he was using teklon gold and it was just snapping when he struck and the gripper was dug in, we done a few shock leaders but just snapping. now hes using stren blood red and says you cant beat it had no problems with it.

funny enough my 525 is loaded with ultima f1 black 15lb...it kept snapping when i fished horden on saturday....on one iccasion there was bits of sharp shell when i reeled in maybe that was what was causing it .....either that or theres an inc=visible razor sharp coral reef where i was casting
Punch and pull then let rip

i used ultima F1 black and titanium in the past has low diameter for breaking strain, but only any good on clean sandy beaches as didnt seam very abrasion resistant due to the supple soft smooth feel to it not good for collery beaches or rocks.

The old ultima F1 northern rock was strongest line ive used but it was very wirey but tough as hell. Im using Ultima Power Pro at min low diameter as F1 but tougher !.

Exactly the same happened to me yesterday, it was ok on the first session but the on the second session it kept on snapping.
After a session i usually rince me reels under warm water then leave on the bench to dry ( not in direct sunlight ) Haven't had any problems in the past with other lines, just the sensor. Might try the tournament.

never had a prob with sensor just a little wirey.

only ultima line i like is the distance stuff yellow.

best mono on market still is after many years is the berkely trilene.

plenty of lads use it up north whitley bay/newbiggen area on account it is reliable.
