  • blyth last night

Had a run up to blyth last night to fish down to bottom and a couple of hours up .There were a few rods on the beach when I got there so got me self a spot and set up 2nd cast slack line but nowt couple hours past and then had a pull resulting in a little codling which was gut hooked rather than throwing it back just kept it will do for fish cakes of the mother in law lol .Got down to slack with not much happening but once the tide turned the action started lad to the right of me started to pull fish in and the same to my right though here we go one of those nights but after a hour up had another slack line resulting in a nice codling just shy of 3lb after that had ran out of bait so headed home happy not to blank . both fish caught on fresh blacks and lug

The lad fishing to left of me the other side of the pipe was catching like every other cast so will defiantly be trying there again

What sort of range are you casting there because when you look at that beach at low tide the it is featureless and very flat?

Well done on the codling, I fished there a few weeks ago and found it hard work only managing one just under size

At low water there are two sandbars, if I understand correctly you wade out onto the first one the cast into the channel before the second one. Hard work fishing but i've been told it can throw out some very good fish if you are up for it

Was casting between 60 to 100 yards depending on the stage of the tide just trying to find the fish between the sand bars

One of me and my mates favourite spots. Seems better to fish as low water.
