Got to the Groyne for 2:30, and straight in, quite a strong incoming tide, high water being about 5:10. Nothing going for 1st few hours, 2 lads came of the end of the Groyne saying they had blanked aswell.
Not promising but I was there until at least 6 as Wor Lass had took the Car, 2 Older Fella's came along to Fish, and were canny blokes with good crack. 1 of the lad's rod started kicking on 1st chuck, and he pulled in a tiny Codling, but at least a Fish, about half an hour later My Rod was going and I swear to god, it was either the same fish as the Bloke had or it was His twin Brother! It had a crab wrapped round its back nibbling away at it, so I had to quickly sort it out n get the littlun back in...
The dark was kicking in fast and I learned the hard way to never take your head lamp out your box as Fishing in the pitch black aint easy! Blind baiting up is a right chore
Couple of Hours later and the Lads left, I was joined by 2 others who said they'd been on the Pier and had nothing.
They Left empty handed, just as my Lass came to pick me up, I had another Crab as I reeled into pack away, as I guessed the Crabs were having a field day as all my hooks were coming back in Clean as a Whistle
