Roker Pier 17/01/2011

went down roker last night at 10pm and stopped until 3.30am
while i was walking on the pier they were loads of lads coming off and said nowt catching.
bait i used was blacks,razor,bluey and macky.
bites were far and far between and only a couple of lads on the pier and they had nowt.
11pm my first bite which resulted in a dab.
one hour later another dab.
then i have a great bite and stuck and it,it was a canny whittie about pound and half.next few casts nowt and just before 3am i had a flounder.
in all a very poor night i thought the whitties were going to come on and they did not and i did not see anyone else catch anything.
i did get four fish but i had two rods in the water and some great bait,
some lads said whitties were getting caught the night before buts thats fishing and you never get two days the same.

good night out anyways danny pretty much whats about at the moment hopefully a good blow to stir things up a bit is needed them big ones might come in

Atleast a few bites and fish kept you interested.

My mate fished a couple hours today (18th Jan) didnt get a bite. and didnt see anything else come in either, was people down saying a few whities caught night before.

Forecast is westerlys all week :-( but will give it a shot somewhere fri night.

I was just going to bed when you started fishing, can't take late sessions any more. Seems you did the best on the pier though.

i like fishing night tides best chance of codling,and not many lads out.
