Fished Shields pier with my mate Steve (goose09) from 3.15pm til 9.45pm. Would have got down there earlier if it wernt for work and hoards of football supporters

Got to the end and within 30mins a friend of mine (Ian from Stanley) had a codling around 1lb 5ozs and it was as black as tarmac, must have been in the river for sometime...

Later after Ian had left, around 5pm ish, had my first small bite which resulted in a codling of exactly 2lb. At this point steve was becoming worried incase he blanked agian...
Not long after this fish I had another small bite on my other rod which resulted in a codling of 1lb 7ozs, which by the looks of it had escaped from a seal that was hanging around earlier on as it had some nasty bite marks in it.

Later we packed up and am sad to say that steve did blank!! Not a bad session and it least theres some codling still around.

Both fish were taken on large cocktails of Ragworm and Lugworm (blowlug)

We went on monday to except we went to the customs house. We both had fish too. He had a codling that was lucky to be 6oz's and I had a canny flounder of around 1lb 8ozs and it was very fat. Least he didnt blank that time.
