They are very stable! Have a look at www.kayakfishinguk.net or Kayak Fishing UK for loads of info about it. If your worried about being of the larger frame have a look at the prowler big game

KINGCOD. I have one and there are at least 20 others that I know of in the North East. I am nearly 15 stone and mine is very stable. It all depends on the model of kayak you use as they all perform differently. The Big Game is probably one of the most stable but one of the heaviest so slower. There are even stabalisers available for them so they end up looking like Hawaiin canoes. You can get second hand gear and if you dont like it you shouldnt loose out much when if you sell it on again. You will find Kayakers very helpful with advice and will even let you have a paddle to try out.

Prowler 13 cheap on anglers afloat now. It's in north Wales though. U will have to be prepared to travel to get the bargains, come the warmer weather they will be like rocky horse sh#t to get a hold of your prob looking in the region of £650 to £900 for a full second hand set up. Just an estimate though!
              Just add water!

Keep an eye on all the kayak sites and ebay for sales. Come the warmer weather there will be high demand for good second hand deals. More selection if you are willing to travel but still some bargains to be had localy if you are prepared to wait.

Like all the lads are saying its really good fun out on the kayaks.
A good number of us go out locally.
Have a look at Kayak Fishing UK and go to the meet up section on the forum to see when any of us are meeting up locally as you are more than welcome to pop down and look at our setups and also try a few of the kayaks out. As pete says (malconpak) you should get started for that price figure
