Anthony, could you please tell me the benefits of joining Seaham Angling club [other than the obvious competitions]? Does this give access to both piers? Thanks

        Phil

you have access to north pier when you join the club as you are given your own key,as to the south pier you can fish there if you wish but take plenty of leads bad bottom but fishing can be good.but also be carefull in big seas not wise to fish them.as for benefits if you like your summer fishing the pier is the to get the mackerl and last year was for me brillant i had a few bass, big coalies, pollock even codling on spinners and flies but these were caught early morrnings and some times had the pier to myself.and the south pier i fish for pollock mackerl coalies if i fancy a change but mainly fish north pier. also the north pier is canny plaice fishing i got a few last year fishing with rag and peeler legs worked for me had them to 1lb and a half but no good fishing for them when pier packed pick a quite day during the week is best.ihope this imfor is some use to you and good luck for your trip and any other imfor pm me

the problem is no insureance and if you take others on why bother joining the club just get some one to take you on .then the dock company and the club get less money so the membership fees for those that do pay has to go up.or the dock company could say you no longer have access to the pier .

Anthony, thanks for the advice/help. Will definitely be joining. I remember fishing the North pier 25yrs ago and catching some nice fish so looking forward to returning. Once again thanks.
