  • Blyth - Only The One

Well as I hadn't been out for a while I decided to brave the elements and give Lynemouth a go, arrived at around 4pm with only one other lad fishing and with the waves crashing in ~ as I thought ~ it was unfishable, another lad turned up at around 6pm but after losing more gear I decided to head down to Blyth and fish off quayside and managed to catch this 4lb codling on my 2nd cast using squid, nothing else after that and when frost bite started to kick in at around 9pm I decided to pack up, order an Indians and head home!

At least you got a decent fish mate, just rewards for giving it a go in this weather.

Good fish for that area i would have thought with the water being brackish there would have been nothing there

Cheers lads, I must admit I was surprised to catch anything apart from a cold as I'm not a great admirer of fishing off Blyth as I've never had any joy in the past!

I was fishing at the far end of the quayside (near the pilot station), quay road area - had some young looney tune keep coming back - I think he was either having a bad night on the drugs or I was stopping him from throwing himself in the river........bit of a weirdo to say the least!
