Fished the first gate last night from 7.30pm til 11pm. As we were setting up a lad said there had been fish caught up to 7lb on the morning flood. That sounded good, might get some canny ones tonight we thought. First cast got a codling just shy of 2lb, things looking good. Nothing more till around half 9, then gets a slack liner. Got it in to about 5 metres from the pier and then got snagged. Lost the lot, felt about same stamp as the other one.
At least i didn't blank for a change and fish for tea tonight.
