Well with the seas dropping and weather more settled I decided to try Whitburn after work. I got there about 6.15 with my mate Rutland we decided to try the mudhole first.

Well first cast was in and in with in a couple of mins later the first fish was on nothing massive by any means but at 2.5lbs it was a start. We stayed there for about an hour n half and I had 3 fish all about the same size. We decided to try the beach next behind latimers the beach was like a Christmas tree but didn't see many fish so set up and cast out with a big fresh crab bait and was into a fish straight away another codling of the same stamp. Rutland still hadn't caught anything yet and a think he was getting a bit sick of seeing me bring the fish in sorry mate lol.

As the tide dropped we moved into the back of the doors where I was joined by my mate Norman who had been to the wharry and had a nice fish of about 6 pound. It started off poor with a couple of rocklings but I think the fresh crab gave my that edge and pulled Two out of about 3lb in quick succsession.

We ended the night on the pipe end and I didn't catch anything but Rutland and Norman got one each of about 4lb. In all a very enjoyable night with a kanny bag of fish baits used fresh crab yellow tails and White worm.

    Cheers Adam
