  • Seaham Hall Beach

Fished the Hall Beach 6 till 9.30 tonight. Got a Codling just under 2.5lb a smaller codling and a small coalie. Caught on Blacks and Lug. There were a few fish about, but not in great numbers. I thought there would have been more caught as there were loads out.

I pulled in a few snapped off rigs last night. On 1 cast I pulled in 3 breakaways plus my own and a small coddling. It felt huge! Atleast I came away with more leads than I went with.

You probably pulled in a couple of mine Tony complete with red shockleader lol. you will be able to tell if they are my traces.......orange weight trace and yellow snoods with a white plastic clip down up from weight clip. If you did get them, hope you catch with them mate

None of yours mate. A couple of the rigs I pulled in had no shock leader. They were tied direct to what looked like no more than 20lb line. No wonder they were snapping off and thats not to mention the danger of casting with no leader.

ok mate....thats unreal 20lb line and no shockleader. Imagine the damage a 6oz gripper would do if it hit you especially if the caster was putting his all into the cast. Very nasty thought.....I changed over to a 70lb shockleader coz i was pinging off 50lb shockleader with a 6oz lead when casting hard. That could have been my poor casting lol
