Just got back in from Blyth pier, it wasnt my intention to fish the pier but my usual haunt of the beach was heaving with lads after yesterday big seas, but there was plenty of lads on the beach and pier

Started on the bend at 1st but nowt much happening there so went to the end which was quite packed but managed a nice codling after braving the elements then quickly followed but a perfect slack liner on the 2nd chuck then nowt then till the tide turned then managed to get another nice codling just under 5lb then decided it was time to go home and warm up ... bait used was blacks

About time the pier gave up something decent. You earned that fishing last night. It looked bleak from where I was sitting.

              Blyth

Cheers lads about time it started producing again

Yeah angler...I thought the sea was gonna be alot bigger as it was big during the day but it flattened right off come nightfall but there was still a canny swell running tho, but only seen a few other codling caught and one of the lads fishing to my left caught a nice 6 pounder so yeah its nice to see some decent fish coming off the pier at last ...

About 10 years ago I caught 3 cod all around the 5lb mark, all within 40 minutes. The last 2 were caught on the same bit of crab as a I was low on bait and had managed to retrieve it from the first cod in tact. Don't fish the pier much now.

                  Can't wait!

I'm down South working at the moment! Can't wait to be homeward bound! It's great seeing the strong cod weights and numbers! Good effort on the pier!

                        Blyth

Well I'm sure it'll fish again tonite with the way the seas running at the mo and more so after last nights catches but I'm not a huge fan of the pier as you do get alot of idiots on there.. but it was canny to finally meet some good lads on there lastnight...

I think the beach will fish better tho, might even give it a blast 2moro night

                          well done, nice fish.
Me and mate fished between the bend and the end and blanked. fished till about 12.
Seen the lads on the end bringing a few fish in, must have been you's.
                          Well done again.
