    Was PANTS

Got down there about 4pm, the place was packed loads of lads on the prom, I'd parked in the Hall car park so managed to get a spot between the steps and the prom. Sea was lovely, some nice big swells coming in. Bait was fresh lug and a bit of runnydown. Well I tried close in, I tried medium range and I tried long range pendulum and never got a sniff. Set up a second rod as it got dark with the runnydown, this was to save the blank as I ended up with a brace of coalies on this. Didn't see owt else come in, just a few small coalies and most lads were packing up and heading off by 7:30pm.

Weed was a PITA, catching on the main line in the surf but even worse were the shreds of what I can only guess were "ladies items" clogging up the leader knot every cast. Stuck it out until a couple of hours after HT but by 8:20pm I'd had enough of picking jamrag off the leader so packed up and headed home.

Still got 3 score of lug in the fridge for Tuesday night but I haven't the foggiest where to go now. Might head for Shields, at least there will be plenty of Whities and Coalies to keep the rod tip nodding. If anyone has any better suggestions feel free to pm me

Thanks Sean. Not much use when I've got 60 lugworm in the fridge. Suppose I could always paint them bright red and stick some of the Mrs false eyelashes on them, doubt they'd do any worse than the lugworm I used tonight
