Aye Aye chaps
SUNDAY
headed out with Chris and Don in the monsoon that swept the northeast on sunday morning!, arrived at the pier and started fishing at 10am. It was savage! the rain belting down none stop, but the fish were there! We set up camp just down from the end
The big Baits at distance were not getting touched.. but the small hooked 2 hook flappers around 50 - 80 yards were - Lug being the killer bait.
Fish Count for Sunday
Me - 6 whiting (best 38cm), 3 small Dab, 2 small plaice, a nice flounder of 34cm, 3 coalys up to a 1lb.
Don - 4 Whiting up to a 1.5lb and 2 small dab
Chris - blanked!
The rain got to much for us, so we went home early at 3pm a bit dejected, to top it off i got to see the end of the newcastle game and my boys being robbed of a point! - effing great day i thought as i tried to dry out!
MONDAY
Arrived at 6pm and what a glorious night it was.. took some nice pics on arrival:
Only me and Chris ventured down tonight to use up the bait.. set up again just down from the round end. Fishing was hectic! double shots regually and fish nearly every cast! again big baits at distance were coming back untouched, but the small hooked 2 hook flappers with beads and rag/lug at around the 50 - 80yard mark in the gully were working tops! we fished 6pm till 10pm.
Fish Count For Monday night:
Me - 13 Whiting (best a whopping 44cm.. lovely specimen pic doesnt do it justice , and a lot around 1.5lb mark), 2 Coalys up to a 1lb, a nice flounder of 42cm (again the pic not the best as it folded up as it was took! ), 3 small dab, 2 small place.
Chris - 15 Whiting (best of 42 cm, but again a lot of nice plump ones to 1.5lb), 3 flounder up to a 1lb, a eel of around 50cm, and a codling around 1lb.
