  • whitley beach Saturday

Arrived at whitley beach around 5-30pm and had first 3 chucks in big bay. second cast had a small bite which resulted in a small coalie. The sea had flattened off a bit compared to Friday. Quite a few rods were there today, but nothing coming out, so moved to north Wilkies though no rocks showing, as the tides are still small. Cast in and got a small codling about 1-1/4lb. Next cast produced a sizable rockling, the the next cast, another small codling about 1lb. Packed up then as it was getting dark and had no lamp. Someone said there were a few fish at Watts's slope, best around 3lb, but was a lot of weed making it difficult.

Enjoyed the fishing though the end results not great, but as the nights draw in, the stamp of the fish should improve. No pics taken even though I had my camera with me, didn't think anyone would be interested in fish that size

A fish is a fish mate everyone likes to know that there are fish about because where there are small there are big ones as well so no matter what the size its still good to have a few pics to show what you have caught would love just to pull something small up last time I was out was about 4 month ago and caught small coalie and rocklin and the time after that about a week after was out with a mate and totally blanked bait not even touched.
        Thanks :-)

I had a couple of hours fishing with the little-un, starting as it got dark. The first session of the season and it wasn't a productive start, still it was good to get out. We had a couple of tentative bites without hooking anything. The crab and lug baits were often stripped pretty quickly so I guess there were a lot of crabs around.
