  • Blackhall Rocks

Set up camp an hour before high tide waiting for the Tall ships. Had no bites for over an hour when the heavens opened. Not being put off I stuck it out. Nothing took on bait with first rod but second rod took Mackrel on feathers, some great action .
Just to say, I was surprised to bag the Mackrel from the beach which happened to be peacefull , unlike the local piers full of 'lunatics'.
All in all , a big bag of fish and great to see the ships too and the weather turned out ok after the storm.

Used to get them off the beach all the time when I lived in Portsmouth, sometimes they would be so close to the shore the sprats would be jumping onto the shingle trying to escape them.

Sounds like you had a similar session to me at Horden on Sunday, difference is I didn't have the Mackerel gear and got mine bottom fishing on a big Bluey bait.
    CLIP IT AND WHACK IT
