  • craster rocks

    fished at craster today off the rocks, never fished here before so wasnt sure on how it would fish. fished 11:30-4. first chuck resulted in my first summer codling but was undersize so went back obvcourse.



    then nothing the rest of the seshion mabe it fishes better at high tide?
    lost 3 sinkers and rigs so not to bad. still it was nice to get out and a nice place to fish

    nice one, i've always found it fishes better at low, check out my map i've got a few marks i've fished marked on.

        well done on getting one out Shaun.

        I like to fish behind the South pier on the rocks at low water and at high there are some great fish caught from here.

        You should also have a chuck into the harbour with a light rod.....it's full of fish. I like the end of the North pier casting into the mouth or over next to South pier. There use to be some nice size flatties in there

            hi, shaun i was fishing their last week and had a few fish to 3lb also had dogfish i was getting fish a hour after top water but i prefer 2 hours down then 2 hours up then pack up as the fish seem to go off

              did alot better than me then were you casting far as i was just ploping a bait out 40 yards, and what bait? i think peeler is ment to be best like most places but it isnt cheep so i used mussle, cheeper alternitive.

                believe it or not i had been to beadnell a few hours before off the point with my 2 sons & wife i had 1 decent wrasse & a 2 1/2lb codling plus a few undersize codling on the fresh crab it was my wifes idea to go to craster as i do,nt like fishing it at high water so i only had half a dozen frozen crabs left so i mixed them with limpets and that is what i got my fish on.
