Well done mate, thinking of fishing there on Monday.
Someone mentioned that coalies don't have a size limit.....!!!! according to the National Federation of Sea Anglers (NFSA) they do, same as a Cod @ 35cm.

    Good luck Guys

well i thourt they did to, but when two people came along blyth peir when i was fishing there was a guy with a bag full of coalies and and the two guys from northumberland fisheries (somthing like that) said its ok because they were coalies and they dont have size limits? surley they would know that they have size limits if they did? they even gave me a booklet with loads of size limits of fish.

That's a new one on me Shaun. I always follow NFSA size limits link attached. Sea Fish Size Limits - NFSA Size Limits - Sea fishing - Sea Angling Resource. The Northumerbland Fisheries Site doesn't have anything about size limits. I would be surprised if they acted differently to the NFSA, but if that's what they said mate that's what it must be.

        Gud luck

Looked on the North Eastern Sea Fisheries Committee site and its there in the size limits. I am assuming Saithe is the same as a coalie though.

it wasnet that many years back when u could catch coalies up to 2lb + getting 1 over 1lb and a half is a raritey nowadays no wonder really when all the future fish are being taking cant beleive people think theres no limit a thought every fish had a limit (even weevers?)
Loads of effort for little reward
              But still love it

apparently only if you and your club is a member of the angling trust, can some one clarify if this is true or not
