lads fished blyth pier this morning, saw at least six weavers caught. for those unaware they are small light coloured ugly little devils about four to six inches long and can easily be recognised by a distinct black fin on there backs. please dont grab them to unhook as a very painful sting will be injected into your hand causing massive swelling and usually hospital treatment. they will take your spinner or feathers if your fishing for mackerel. seen one lad who got stung once and he was in agony. on a similar vein, where something on your feet if you or your kids go paddling of north east beachs as they hide in the sand.

If you do get stung, immerse the sting in as hot water as you can SAFELY bear. It breaks down the poison"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

if u grab sandeels kungfu style from waters edge as well ur bound to see them too....normally they leave a sort of marking in the sand when not ocvered by water ....there are two types greater and lesser....we get more of the lesser which is more poisonous then the greater....i guess you could ask your mate to **** on ur hand if things got that bad ...Punch and pull then let rip
