Im new to fishing and tried alnmouth last night, tide was right out when we got there so we cast into the sea untill the mouth filled up, caught 2 small flatties off the beach, and then later on continued to catch 12 more between me and my m8, the largest being 26cm, was a good night and would deffo go again, only problem was when the tide came right in allot of seaweed followed and we were getting caught up in it every cast so we decided to leave about 12.00 midnight. il upload a few photos later if you's like =D

Not a bad haul considering the conditions. Would like to see some pics please. Used to fish other side of the river down to Warkworth a lot when I was a kid. Lots of flatfish but never managed a Turbot. I seriously want to bag one this year. Hoping to spend a few days up in warkworth soon.
What bait were you using ?
Well done

il upload a couple later on when im home from work , i was using ragworm tipped with mackeral yeah it was a bit hitty missy looking for bites as ive got a light rod and the wind was moving it allot, i wasn't casting out far on the beach then moved to the mouth when it started to swell up a bit and we started getting loads of bites, when it got dark was a nightmare putting new hooks on like with a torch haha.

Nice session you've had. Get some thin strips of plywood and v notch the ends. Tie some spare hooks up nylon and wrap them round the plywood. I usually carry 8 spare in case I get break offs. Alnmouth is a good summer night fishing venue, plenty of Flounders, the odd decent plaice, and trubot turn up, and usually the odd Bass if there is a good surf and the water is fairly clear. Here fishy, fishy!

Nice one matey, thats very good. I wouldn't mind getting that amount of fish myself! Yeah weed is a pain. I dont know Alnmouth area but where I fish at Hadston there is always a bit of weed from the rocks. Its a pain but dont let it put you off fishing
