  • the heugh 6/6 morning sesh

just got back from the heugh after a great morning session, arrived at 7/30 nobody on so went straight to the end loads of sprats on the surface and the terns where going nuts diving into them, cast out a string of daylights straight into the middle of the action with a two oz lead let it drop till it hit the bottom and then started to pirk the daylights along the bottom almost instantly i had 4 coalies on at around the half pound mark and that's how it went for the rest of the morning, later another 5 lads came on the end fishing the same way as me and every one was pulling in coalies and mackerel 3,4, 5 at a time,i have never seen so many coalies being caught, i even managed to get two small codling on the daylights, final tally 63 coalies up to 1lb, 6 mackerel, 2 codling and a weaverfish, all returned except the mackerel which my family are having for dinner with buttered new potatoes and a nice salad, every fish caught on daylights using 10lb line a spinning rod and small fixed spool reel.

        sound like a good session

do you know if there is anything caught on the other side of the gates, as i want to take my son spinning but i dont think it very parental having him climb over like we do.
