  • Druridge Bay - 28/05/10

Went out fishing last night for the first time since last September. Headed up to my favourite area near Hadston Carrs a couple of hours before low tide. The sea was dead flat but at the turn of the tide I got a codling just under 3lb on rag. Nothing else after that, but it was good to get out again after so long a break.

I haven't. Thats why I said I am glad winter is over as I dont fish in the winter. And what I mean is that I am thinking of getting rid of my bait rod/reel now that the summer is here as I prefer lures anyway.

I am the said brother in law. Was a cracking days fishing. Had a nice surf on which must have brought the bass in. There was a spell at about half tide where we were catching on every cast.

Rag was most certainly the best bait. Lug produced 2 fish and mackerel accounted for just 1 flatty.

A really good session but nothing in the keep net.
