  • Warkworth Beach and pier 23rd may

Me and Finseeker had a last minute session to try for a turbot and what ever else we could hook into.We had to fish the last 2 hrs of the flood and most the ebb.Things were slow on the beach at first but then the first flounder fell to me a double sided one and for the next hour flounder kept coming in even one that looked the same as my first lol.Finseeker only managed 1 flounder on the beach. We decided to have half hour more on the beach before the long walk to the pier but soon after this i got a nice bite and slack line i struck into something a bit better the fish kept diving i thought i had a bass on but it wasnt to be.My reward was my first Turbot and at 33cm a nice one we gave the beach one more chuck then headed for the pier.We made the right choice as the fish were feeding off the pier with me and Finseeker getting plenty coal-fish on the spinners along with Launce. On the bait we got Flounders,Dabs and a weaver all in all a great days fishing lost count of the fish today and you could fry eggs on my skin

    Cheers Nicky
