  • Baking at Beadnell 22/05

Went to have a few chucks up at Beadnell this afternoon, along with Graham (Moocher), Neil (Kingfisher) & Steve (Youngsteve).

We fished from about 11.30 till 5pm and the going was very slow. There were a good few bites to begin with, but nothing hooking up. Possibly small wrasse or poodlers, it was hard to say. On about my third or fourth chuck, the first fish of the day; a nice red codling about 2 1/2lb.

Shortly after, and not to be out-done Neil got a red tommy.

Both fish a lovely red - here's Neil's little un.

Unfortunately things pretty much died a death after that. Steve tried a bit of spinning, but had no takes.

The main problem in the 80 degree heat was trying to look cool..........

whilst trying to stay cool, especially for those in their neoprenes

As it turned out, there were no more fish to be had - a pity as conditions were spot on. So here's a couple more shots of Graham

    Neil & Steve

trying to keep the interest going till packing up time. All in all not a bad day, better than sitting in the hoose, and always nice to warm a few ar$es! - should have put a bit of money in for the best fish

    Cheers, Gary

It's his new Softy-Southerner's-Ladies-Style-buckles-with-a-skerrit-on-Zeteque-Evo rod LOL!! Believe me, he's been ribbed about it enough - the man does have more Century's than most tackle shops however
