fished roker beach (between the piers) for the last hour of the flood (had the dog down for a walk and thought i might as well have a few casts) only had 1 bite which resulted in a nice plump flounder just under 2lb, best flounder i've had for a long time, caught it on fresh crab.
haven't fished that beach for years but when i was a kid i used to get some nice plaice and flounders there, i'll be giving it a few more tries in the next few weeks.
