  • few hour at druridge today

fished 4 hours down at druridge today using the yuki continentals .had lots of turbots ect in the past close in but wanted to try the rods at long range,.24 mainline -30lb shockleader and 3oz leads, whacking them out as far as I could, got lots of flatties.no turbot though, used fresh macky, there was one other guy fishing when I got there about 500 yards south of me but he packed up not long after I got there, appart from the odd dog walker I never seen anyone else

not many people on that beach either mate.do you get many plaice from there,i know the 44 mark on the pier throws them out,i get them on the midens and know of a couple of other spots my side of river that's ment to be good for them, when sea has had a few flat days im going to give them a shot

I've never had plaice off the beach, mostly flounders and the occasional dab, (also, on a good day - codling, coley, whitey, rockling, weevers).

Nice little session mate. If you are going to Cambois take some sandeels with you, well worth a shot.

Good report and pics mate. May get the Yuki Q7 out and have a dabble soon - bought it and never really used it yet.

Do you ever try bluey when scratching for flats - does it work as well as mackerel?

I've had stacks of Flounder on Bluey, also had a nice Turbot (33cm) off Seaham North Pier last March...

I've had plenty flounder and a couple of turbot on herring, it's only downfall is its softness but salting it a bit works well
