  • Lynemouth Pipe

    Hi.

Im new to the forum and have only just started to get back into fishing (hence my username)

Tried Cambois beach and Blyth pier a few times in Feb but nothing much doing.

Tried Lynemouth pipe yesterday (just off to the right of it) from 11am until 5pm. I caught 3 flatties (biggest just shy of a pound) and my mate caught 2 small flatties. Seemed to be fishing best at (rising) half tide and went dropped off at high water.

Only fished there once previously many years ago but I was quite impressed with it. The water seems to have good depth so might try there again.

Does anyone have any tips for this area? Ie times to fish there, best sea state, best bait etc?

          pipe

were you on the concrete base of the pipe m8 i find best 2 hook flapper rig with 1/0 hooks rag and maky best for flatties and coalies a find rag outfishes lug at the pipe because rag worm fall out the pipe as it comes from sea bait hense why there so many fish down that area.

Thanks for the advice. I was fishing on the beach to the right of the pipe and rocks. Wasnt sure whether you could actually fish from the pipe and was concerned that it may be a tackle graveyard so stuck to the shingle beach.

              Hi mate, welcome to NESA.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Congrats on catch mate. Get a pair of chest waders as there is a cracking sand bank just off the right of the pipe and fish it at low tide with a little swell on the spinner for your bass and as the mackerel come in in the summer.
as said previous rag farm waste comes out the pipe.
                Best of luck.

as has been said lads bass left of the pipe in summer, middle of the beach on the right of the pipe is a big hole known as (hospital hole) nice sea running in winter 4 codling, lug or rag baits but plenty of it.
further south 2 end of beach is (fairy rocks) fish lug, rag, crab & razor in a southerly sea in winter. then u move on2 (the beacons) crab baits or if u have a big, big chuck u can use beach gear - 18 - 20lb mainline, 60lb shock leader & blast out a single snake white or a single yellowtail on2 clean ground (winter) fresh crab (summer)
back 2 the pipe- as said a big square block best fished left side winter big chucks beach gear, single rag worm or snake white.
north of that u come 2 (the burn) great 4 flounder summer & winter or big chucks again with beach gear- lug, rag, razor & crab.
further north again u will see way out 2 sea a cross current known as the (crosswaters)
it takes some hitting these lol.
north again u then come 2 (peggies opening) great winter mark lug,rag & crab very rough ground.
then its (railway hole)- same as peggies.
then on2 (boghall)- (square hole) ect,ect all rough ground marks unless u try as at the beacons big chucks 2 cleaner ground off the front rocks of boghall but dangerous 2 fish alone unless u know the mark lads.
                        hope this helps a bit.
                        bill
