  • Heugh 3/3/10

Well lads got down for low tide with my shovel ready to bag up on rag.
Tried by the side of the fish sands - got about 3 - dug out is putting it mild.
Just as well John at the Friarage had some blacks and nice rag for sale.
£10 worth of bait and i was set up.
Went on the heugh about 2pm and stayed till 9pm.
I had one small codling of about 2lb.
For the amount of rods and experienced anglers it was very poor.
Mind i saw something i have never seen before this early into the Spring Season - SPRATS - and loads of them jumping from the water. They were being chased probs by whity or cod. The gulls were going mad.
Who knows but it looks like the season is about up.
Boat fishing next and Charlie told me yesterday he is fitting a new engine to Lady Elsie and seh will be up for business soon.
    PS -
You also know the seasons up when the sea fishing guys talk about fly fishing all day.
    Mick.
Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.
