fished shields pier [blocks] lastnite 1 undersize codling in 5 hours plenty bites but obviously small stuff as kept missing them. Nice sea on and once wind dropped off it was a canny nite. Spoke to couple of lads in car park when i first got there apparently a couple of lads nearly got washed in at high water they were fishing the post area the swell washed 1 of them 150yards down the pier, happened to me couple of years ago in same spot would never go past that spot again on a big tide and swell the water only came up just below my knees and it took me off my feet. Going to have another shot along marsden/whitburn area tommorow.

yeah a was up there at begging tho so was fine buyt spoke to the lad and he lost his box and broke a rod he was lucky
