Alreet guys, fished the rover today, started off on shields pier, first bait in water at 10am from the end. Nice sea running and a few big swells, one of which smacked into the foot of the pier and burst up ower the wall and ower my head! Spoke to a few lads on the way up, there were only half a dozen, and they had nowt, one lad on the end and he had been there since 7am and didnt have owt. Gave it an hour them moved to the 44 mark, only saw the one undersized codling by 12:45pm.
Gave it up as a bad job and headed to mark number 2, the gunpits. Again cracking sea running in, fished upto and 40mins down from top water, again no fish, and it wasnt just me as Granty was there aswell.
Mark number 3 was the Mudhole, plenty of weed knocking about, just had an hour here and again nothing. Baits used were lug, razor, mussel, squid, mackeral.
All 3 marks looked like they should throw owt a few fish but alas it wasnt to be, just a note to other cliff anglers heading along whitburn, just before top water the cliffs south of the gunpits and the cliffs infront of the mudhole were collapsing with the heavy seas, please be careful and dont get too close, i warned a few walkers that were straying a bit too close for comfort.
