Went up to Druridge Bay with fishingmark this morning, got there for 7ish to fish three hours up to high tide at 10am; on the hunt for Turbots.
I was using flapper rigs, with size 2 Sakuma Stingers, and fished my four&bait close-in with small bits of mackerel, and the six&bait a bit further out with lugworm.
It looked grim for the first two and half hours, the sea was a lot rougher than we expected, the leads were getting dragged along the beach and the baits coming back untouched, but then just before high tide, I christened the four&bait with this little Turbot.
A few minutes later, right on high tide, Mark noticed a good rattle on his close-in rod, and pulled in a Turbot as well. Only two little fish, but we were both chuffed we'd got our targets!
Not long after, I got a small Flounder, and Mark pulled in another Turbot.
We fished about an hour down, but with no more bites and the beach starting to get busy with dog walkers, so we called it a day.
(sorry u couldn't make it out today Julio! next time!)
