  • Steetly and Seaham.

Hello guys-had a busy couple of days fishing. Went to Steetly yesterday for a long sesh. 2pm till 11 pm. Not a lot showing just flatties and whities.

Noticed the hole had been blocked. The guys brother who fell down did it. Good job as there was still a few fihing in the spot.

Had a look down and for anyone who does not use the pier heres a couple of pics. This is the stairs down.

And this is inside-hard to get a good shot with my small camera-but it is a horrible place. Well done to all who got the injured guy out.

Today i went to Seaham and paid my fees for the year. They only take money on a couple of nights now-but i was lucky and my cash was accepted and i was given a new key. (this fits the inside of the new lock-but not the outside).
Today i caught whitey after whitey and they were big. Mr flatfish popped up to say hello as did a small cod.

Towards the end of the day the rain moved in.

Went home 4pm after a good noons fishing--no big cod again but i,ll keep trying.
    Tight lines Mick.

              Steetley

Just a quick note about the hole that has been filled in.

My mate chez was so chewed up that the pier might get shut off that he dragged mesh from over the steetley ruins then wheel barrowed some doli and cement up and down the pier until he had a covering over the hole. Although it looks half decent, it is just a temp repair to stop another accident.
So Well done chez, your hard work is appreciated (but i still wouldnt stand on it lol).
On the fishing, I have been down about 6 times since the accident and apart from the day the guy went through the hole (which was excellent fishing) there has been little to shout home about only a couple of flatties and whities per tide.
Lets hope for better fish this weekend

Well done to Chez-that must have been hard work.
I have no doubt someone else would have gone down.
I,m also convinced the scrappers did not take the metal cover. It has been rusting away for years and was borderline on falling through a couple of weeks ago.
I also noticed the walls on the concrete roundhead/old pump house are giving up now. You can actually see the metal rusting away on the outside where concrete has fell off.
