  • At last my first bass but not just one

Got the night off from the wife so headed out last night about 6:30pm. Was going to Boghall but last minute decided for Lynburn as i don't like the idea of leaving my car there, not the most secure of places. I gets down there just right of the pipe the sea was very flat and about 6 other anglers was leaving so had the place to myself. Set the 2 rods up and about 20 mins in, got a massive knock but nothing come from it, the next half hour just kept getting one really big knock follow by a few smaller rattles but kept missing them, until finally hooks into a 1lb bass was really pleased as i always wanted to catch a bass. Another hour of regular big knocks and frustratingly missing them i finally hooked into another this being about 1.5lb was over the moon for catching 2, both being released safely. After that got 2 small coalie's and went quite so call it a night with a big smile on my face

Well done on getting a new species, seems they are getting more and more common round here.

Well done on the Bass. I saw a lad catch one off the end of the heugh last time out. I was very surprised as i thought you could only get them off the beaches in the surf.
