  • arsden - Theb Black Path

Headed down to Marsden last night with hulme6612 loaded with quality bait (yellow tails, rag, squid, mussel & mackerel) started fishing to the left of the path at about 5.45pm caught nothing but rocks. Moved over to the rocks on the right still nothing not even a bite!! Lost gear with every chuck... We called it a day at 10.30pm with the snow getting stronger & stronger.

Never mind there is always next time!

Just out of interest where do other people fish when on the path left, right or straight out?? Both times I've been there I've had nowt & lost a load of tackle.

Codonly is your man to ask about this shot - he knows it like the back of his hand

i have fished it a couple of times and find it best to throw all your rigs and weights in a bucket ,give them a shake and tip them all into the sea

Saves you loads of time and effort

I've always fished the Black Path to the left, casting roughly in the direction of the end of the piers, but I've also had fish off the rock ledges to the right casting straight out (PB cod from here).

Frenchmans Point has never been tackle hungry when I've fished it, but also never been as good fish wise for me.

You can always expect tackle losses on the path, Frenchmans can be very good and as rob says its not tackle hungry.
Fish it when theres a decent southerly swell running for best results.
