  • 50 up in style!!

Well to say I'm abit shocked at how my night turned out is an understatement, read on lol

Got my bait from Lewis's this morning as usual top knotch worm!!
Got ready and set off to Lynemouth my usual haunt about 2pm found it right on the edge to hold and with the easterly forcast to increase had one cast then decided to set off and have a look at Blyth.
Popped home in Cramlington to dump the tripod and get a sheet then got to Blyth pier at 4pm ish set up camp about 100yards shore side of bend fishing behind breakers with wind break for comfort second cast resulted in a nest on my 535 so on with the slosh30, sorted the 535 pulled in and changed back out it went 5 mins later nod nod then slack picked it up nothing but couldn't get tension so hit it anyway then yes yes yes pull back with atitude got it to the pier and looked down at it and said to the lad next to me here's a walk to the beach and he very kindly offered to help so he went off ahead to get onto beach walked it to the beach thinkin dont come off!!
Got it YES! back onto pier with a massive thanks to my helper hit the scales at 6lb 6oz well chuffed I now have lucky Underpants, shirt, jeans and more important a lucky TT-R

My count was then on 49 then two casts later a codling of 38cm about 1.25lb didn't weigh it but size so counts yipeeee thats the 50 MINT!

And of course the smiles thanks to our lass lol

Well thats me totally over the moon got 50 done with one session to spare as out tommorrow night too and to have two sessions with two 6lbers

Well done Ivan, nice fish mate. I think there could be a few more that size or bigger from there over the next few days. I think parking spaces will be at a premium lol. A lot of people won't fish that far down towards the beach but I've seen some really good fish from there, including doubles.

    Jim.

Mmmm.....hope that wasn't the one tide that the pier is going to throw up fish - I was planning on getting down tomorrow when the sea is hopefully bigger!!! Seriously though, well done mate - hoping for something similar tomorrow as my best of the season so far is only just over 4lb. Planning on some serious pig-hunting in January to sort that out!!

      Cheers, Gary

Big Seas and Massive Tides is that a case of two forces working against each other? or should it not matter?

Either way nice one Ivan - I completed the 2 Cod Challenge aaaages ago
