Me and phil185 ventured out in the snow tonight to our new favourite mark. Started my little Peugeot 306 up and off we went taking our time on the roads.
Got to the mark about 9, had to park in the Lidl as we couldn't get back up the bank at the toll bar.
Access to ryhope is better than last week but still dodgy especially in the snow, luckily the cold had frozen the mud solid so we didn't get covered this time.
The tide was still a bit high when we arrived for where we wanted to fish so had a few chucks from another mark. Things didn't look good and we were using lug from the tackle shop which was small compared to what we usually dig.
An hour later and we got onto our mark. Threw out some big lug and squid baits and just at low water I pulled this guy in. 3lb 4oz on the kitchen scales.
A couple of chucks later and phil pulled in this, not weighed probably about 2lb.
We tried for a bit longer after this but got pushed off by the tide. A good night even though it was extremly cold. The cod is my new PB so i'm chuffed :-D.
