The crack is lads to cast behind the breakers. Just imagine if you were a bass where would you look for all the food. The breakers smash down on the sand and stir everything up. You really don,t need to be in deep water either. I followed the tide up. Used 2 rag on one hook fed up the line and on a pulley rig. This is also good if any cod about. I did not wiegh the fish-but would estimate 2 1/2 pound. Not massive but it spiked the back of my right hand and drew blood.
Its the biggest Bass i have caught-and to date on this season i must have had 10.
It felt much bigger coming in as it was foul hooked deep into its belly (on the outside).
Anyone who has not caught a Bass try my method--i also fish with two rods so my catch rate is increased.
Mick. ps it was the only bass in 4-5 hrs fishing.

the butt of my rod hit me in the guts when i was setting up my other one. The fish pulled down that hard on the tip.
