Took the laddie down for a few chucks at the river today.Fished near the paints to start off with,nowt for first 2hrs then a small codling and an eel.Tide was a nightmare,load of weed using bass rod and fixed spool so was hard work.so decided to up sticks and fished near the wooden jetty behind Gateshead stadium,better choice as you can get out the main rip and fish rite up to it,managed 4 codling biggest knocking on 2lb 8oz,all fell to rag and lug,not a sniff on the peeler.enjoyed it and the bairn did too,thanks for reading.

Ended a good session for you & the lad. Pity no pics. Never fished down there so might give it a try.

can be a good shot when their in,had some good bags from here,and seen some good fish.Brother had a 9lb from here few year back.
