I started fishing today at one of my best spots, the water was big and the sea was running right to left ,the wind was light and north west, weather was slightly overcast.Bait used was a cocktail of runnydown rag and squid, started of with normal size hooks and big baits ,but missed loads of bites , i decided to downsize my hooks to a 2/0 and use smaller baits ,this seemed to do the trick in this case as almost on the first bite i hooked into my first codling of the day, a nice 1.5lbs fish , the next cast was put in the same place ,or as near as i could to that spot, and in about half an hour i had another one, of about 1.5lbs, this went on for almost the whole session until i had four codling on the board, biggest was 1.75lbs, then a very hard bang on the rod , i hit into this ,and to my surprise and joy it was a 2.5lbs bass.
The time had flown over and it was getting dark by this time, put out another cocktail and sure enough another bite ,which turned out to be a whitey of just over 1lbs, then the last cast of the session produced a codling of 2.75lbs ,so total fish for this session was 4 codling to 1.75lbs ,one codling [biggest of the night ] 2.75lbs one whitey just over 1lbs,and a very nice bass of 2.5lbs, have tried to add pictures of the fish but for some reason it won't let me ,and the file size is only 3.1 but if anyone has any ideas on how to i will post them ,bearing in mind i have posted pictures before ,with no problems ,well that comes to the end of my report ,hope you enjoyed reading it as much as i enjoyed catching them, doubt it though----Karl
