Well up this mornin sorted couple jobs out, was ment to be spendin the day with my lass but fortunately she fell akip on the setee so a went out got some rag and headed to st marys as have hada few wrasse and pollock from there this summer (all on the float) and prefer st marys at high tide for obvious reasons when float fishin the gullys etc
took light gear got set up caught plenty small stuff (no pics) coalies and blennys, at one point a pulled up a blenny that had swallowed all me line and the shank of me hook with the worm on and had the the bend and point stickin out its mouth greedy b*****d jus pulled it out musta been nearly in its stomach
as the gullys filled a fished a submerged ledge that a have had luck from in the past, it was only in prob 20 sec then whooooooooooosh it was off like a rocket luckily a was on the ball cos it was headin for the kelp even striped a few feet off me reel as was only expectin small stuff, give a good fight and a was a bit worried a was gonna loose it at surface as a was using barbless hooks, anyways landed it
great fight on light gear, and biggest one from st marys on floatbout 1 1/2 - 2lb returned safley and fightin fit not much else after this more small stuff and wind started to pick up so ploged back over causeway before it got to high
headed then to wansbeck to use rest of bait up(by now the lass had awoken and was pestering me with fone calls "a cant belive u, ur not fair, we were ment to be spending the day togeather" blah blah blah)
not much happenin wansbeck just small coalies and crabs
not a single flattie, at 1 point a was reelin in an a flattie followed me bait all the way in then shot off as it clocked me standing over it but seen no moe after that.
all in all a pretty relaxin day and plenty of fish not all big but still fish
