after last nights blank i decided to use the last of the bait up at my favourite river shot. i got there later than i wanted due to the f.p.o dragging her heels so i missed the best part of the tide, when i arrived there was already 2 lads there who turned out to be from tynemouth club (pensioners), canny couple of lads. i'd only been there 5 minutes and they both pulled a codling in so i thought great its gonna produce something, i was casting out into the main channel without any success so on my last cast i decided to chuck a short one and got a small bite but i couldn't get the little ****. i did manage to catch a rather large jellyfish on the retrieve. its the first time ive had two blanks in a row for over 2 years. there was massive amounts of crap in the river which made fishing hard and i lost a fair few traces.

here's a pic of the jellyfish, for a size comparison it was about the size of a football.

This picture is mental. Call me over imaginative but I thought you were going to say you went fishing and snapped a pic of a plane blowing up in the sky as that is what it looks like to me!

Looks like a protugese man of war to me. Lots have been seen on the west coast. The could be visiting our waters.

Check your sinkers for slime b4 touching it, a friend of mine was fishing bristol cahnnel one day. When he brought his gear up he has slime on his sinker and didnt think much about it. Till he touched it. He said the pain is about 3 time as bad as a weaver sting.
